Engagement of Ex-Servicemen on contract basis as Gatemen in interlocked level crossing gates in Engineering/Operating Dept of Salem Division
Further to this office Notification above , it is proposed to deploy ExServicemen (81 Nos ) on contract basis to work as Gate-men in interlocked level
crossing gates in the jurisdiction of Salem Division. Accordingly, applications in the
prescribed format (Annexure–A) from interested Ex-Servicemen are called for
engagement of Gate-men in interlocked level crossing gates of Traffic and
Engineering department of Salem Division, Southern Railway who fulfil all the
following eligibility conditions
No. of Ex-Servicemen to be engaged – 81
Eligibility conditions as on the date of notification:
a) Ex- Servicemen who have retired after rendering 15 years of service and passed
Army Class-I certificate or equivalent and possess Discharge certificate, ExServiceman identity card and Pension Payment Order will be considered eligible
for engaging on Contact basis.
b) Retired personnel from Para Military forces, viz., BSF, CRPF,
CISF, etc, are not eligible to apply.
Age: Should not have completed 50 years of age as on 09.02.2022
NB. Personnel still serving in the armed forces as on date of issuing of
notification will not be considered. Only those discharged from service on or before
the date of this notification alone will be considered for engaging contract basis.
Educational qualification: Minimum educational qualification is X
Standard Pass -(SSLC/Equivalent Army Education).
PROCEDURE FOR ENGAGEMENT OF EX- SERVICEMEN
Application received from the Ex-servicemen through Google form or through post
will be shortlisted and Ex servicemen will be called for verification of Original
documents.
The Candidate shall attend the document verification, along with all relevant
original certificates, at the date, time & venue specified by this office.
Any request for change of date, time and venue of Document verification will not be
entertained.
Those Ex servicemen successful in Document verification will be subjected for
medical Examination to be engaged on contract basis will be based on the length of
Military Service after successful Document verification to the extend of notified
posts.
MONTHLY REMUNERATION
Engagement will be on full time contract basis and the remuneration will be on
monthly basis comprising of Basic Pay, DA, TA,HRA & Dress allowance of Rs.
5000/- per annum wherever applicable.
Place of posting:
Ex-Servicemen who are found suitable will be engaged as Gatemen in interlocked
gates on contract basis and posted over the jurisdiction of Salem Division.
Ex-Serviceman who wish to be deployed as Gateman on contract basis on
accepting all the terms and conditions laid above and agreeing to perform the
Gatemen duties are advised to submit their applications through on line mode.
