Notice for recruitment of “Technical Associate” (10) post on purely contractual
basis in Forest Survey of India, Dehradun Forest Survey of India (FSI) invites applications for the Post of “Technical Associate” on contractual basis from eligible candidates for engagement initially for a period of 01 year,
which may be extended further based on the requirement of the post.
Other details such as essential qualification, essential experience, age limit, emoluments
and selection process have been given in the annexure-1 of the advertisement
(www.fsi.nic.in). The last date for online registration is 18th October, 2022. Incomplete
applications / applications of candidates without essential qualifications/experience shall be rejected. In case higher number of applications are received, only shortlisted candidates
based on the qualification and experience will be called for walk-in test comprising written
test, hands-on test and interview at Forest Survey of India, Dehradun.
The walk- in test schedule (date & time) will be informed through email and SMS. Shortlisting will be done on the basis of fulfilling of prescribed qualifications, experience and age limit criteria.
The selection of the candidates for the posts shall be carried out as follows:
Selection Process: The selection will be done based on the procedure that will comprise two parts- (i) Written (multiple —choice/short answer type) (ii) hands-on-test on the use of Remote Sensing and GIS software (only those candidates who qualify written test will be asked to appear in Handson test).(iii) Interview
The candidates may have to make suitable arrangement for stay on their own as the walk- in test may take more than one day. Candidates called for walk-in test are required to bring their mark sheets and experience certificates in original. They should also bring a copy of the filled up form on prescribed format (pdf can be downloaded from the FSI)website www.fsi.nic.in ,
while appearing for the walk-in test. The final selection would be based on combined
performance in the written test and Hands-on test. In case of any dispute in the process, the decision of the Director General, FSI shall be final.
Candidates who fulfill the essential/desirable qualification and experience should
submit on-line application form available on FSI’s website www.fsi.nic.in. The selection and
appointment of above technical personnel is purely on contractual basis and does not imply
any form of permanent employment in Forest Survey of India or extension beyond the period of engagement.

Essential Qualification:
Should possess either A or B of the qualifications
mentioned below.
A.
Post Graduate degree in any Science subject or
M.A. in Geography or MCA or M.Sc. in
IT/Computer Science or B.Tech. in IT/Computer
Science/Civil Engg. from a recognized
university /institution Along with
Diploma/Certificate Course of minimum 03
months duration in Remote Sensing/ GIS
from a recognized University/ Institution
B.
M.Sc./ M.Tech. in Remote Sensing and GIS
Desirable Experience:
Experience in:
-Object oriented Based Image
Analysis/ SAR /LiDAR/ Drone data
processing analysis in LULC mapping
Note- Experience should have been
obtained after possessing the
essential educational qualification.
-The upper age limit is 30 years as
on 01stOctober, 2022 -Age relaxation will be given to
SC/ST/OBC/PWD applicants as per
government guidelines. Upper
age is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST
applicants, by 03 year for OBC
applicants and 10 years for PWD
applicants.
