DIRECT RECRUITMENT OF GRADUATE TEACHERS /
BLOCK RESOURCE TEACHER EDUCATORS (BRTE) – 2023


Applications are invited for the Direct Recruitment for the post of
GRADUATE TEACHERS / BLOCK RESOURCE TEACHER EDUCATORS (BRTE)
in School Education and other departments included in the Special Rules
for the Tamil Nadu School Educational Subordinate Service for the year 2023-
2024 from the eligible Candidates of Tamil Nadu only through Online mode
up to 5.00 pm. On 30.11.2023.
The Candidates applying for the post of GRADUATE TEACHERS /
BLOCK RESOURCE TEACHER EDUCATORS (BRTE) should possess a valid
Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test Certificate. (TNTET Paper – II)

Age Limit (as on 01.07.2023):
As per the G.O (M.s) No.185, School Education (Budget-1)
Department dated: 21.10.2023, the upper age limit (relating to Age Rule 5 of
the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu School Educational Subordinate
Service) fixed by the Government is as follows:
(i) The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to General Category for
appointment by direct recruitment to this selection is 53 years of age as
on the first day of July of the recruitment year viz:2023.

(ii) Also the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to Scheduled
Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes,
MBC/DNC and DW of all castes is 58 years of age as on the first day of
July of the recruitment year viz:2023.

Educational Qualifications (As on the date of
Notification):
No person shall be eligible for appointment to the post of GRADUATE
TEACHERS/ BLOCK RESOURCE TEACHER EDUCATORS (BRTE), unless he/she
possesses the minimum educational qualifications as follows:
(i) Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever
name known);
or
(ii) Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor in Education
(B.Ed.);
or
(iii) Graduation with at least 45% marks and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.),
in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and
Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard;
or
(iv) Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year
Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.);
or
(v) Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-
year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.;
or
(vi) Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed., (Special Education);
and
Must have obtained a degree or its equivalent with such Subjects or
Languages in respect of which recruitment is made;
and
Pass in Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper – II with
relevant optional subject for direct recruitment:
Provided that the candidates possessing the educational qualifications
prescribed in (i), (iv) and (vi) above shall be eligible for appointment as
Graduate Teacher (Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany,
Zoology, History and Geography) to Classes VI to VIII:

Provided further that a person with a B.Ed. (Special Education) qualification
shall undergo after appointment at National Council for Teacher Education
(NCTE) recognized 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education.
Provided further that a person with a B.A./B.Sc./B.Litt., and B.Ed., (Special
Education) or Senior Diploma in Teaching for the Visually Impaired / Hearing
Impaired is eligible for the selection only for the vacancies notified for the
schools run by the Directorate for Welfare of the Differently Abled Department.
Note: No person shall be eligible for appointment to the posts unless he/she
possesses the qualification as prescribed by the National Council for Teacher
Education (NCTE) Regulations from time to time.

. HOW TO APPLY:
A. Candidates should read carefully “How to Apply” section given in the
Notification / TRB’s website.
B. Candidates should apply only through Online mode in the Teachers
Recruitment Board’s website:https://www.trb.tn.gov.in. No other mode
of application will be entertained. The application process is entirely Online.
C. A Valid e-mail id and Mobile Number of candidates are mandatory for
registration and e-mail id should be kept active for any future
correspondence.
D. Evidence for claims made by the candidates should be uploaded by the
candidates at the time of Online Application itself. The same will be verified
subsequently at the time of Certificate Verification, if called for.
E. All the particulars and documents mentioned in the Online application
including name of the candidate, post applied for, subject applied for,
communal reservation, date of birth, address and all other fields will be
considered as final. The Candidates can make any changes (addition /
deletion) if necessary, while filling the Online application before final
submission. No Modifications will be allowed after the final
submission of Online application. Since certain fields are mandatory
and fixed which cannot be edited, candidates are requested to fill in the
Online application form with utmost care and caution, as no
correspondence regarding change of those particulars will be
entertained at any cost.

F. Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected. No
representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be
entertained under any circumstances.
G. The candidates are advised to exercise due diligence at the time of
filling the application. In case, if duplicate application of a candidate for the
same subject is detected, Board will consider only the latest application, if
it is in order.

EXAMINATION FEE
A. The Examination fee is Rs.600/- for all the candidates except SC, SCA, ST and
differently abled persons. For SC, SCA, ST and differently abled persons the
examination fee is Rs. 300/- Since the examination fee is different for various
categories, candidates are advised to enter the correct Community / Category of
Disability. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.
B. SMS alert regarding successful Payment will be sent to the registered
mobile phone of the candidate.
C. Online payment to be made only through Payment Gateway. (Net
banking/Credit Card / Debit Card)
D. Offline mode of payment in any form such as Demand Draft / Postal
order, etc. will not be accepted.
E. The candidates should also to pay the service charges as applicable
for Online payment.
F. Failure to pay the prescribed fee in time, along with the Online application, will
result in the rejection of application after due process.
G. Fee once remitted shall not be refunded or adjusted for future test under any
circumstances.
H. If a candidate pays the fee for more than one time, the amount will not be
refunded.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:
Part – A: Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test: (Objective Type –
OMR Based)
The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is a qualifying test only and it will be
conducted in objective type consisting of 30 questions for 50 marks and the

duration of examination will be 30 minutes as Part – A. This mark will not be
considered for ranking.
(i) Syllabus for Tamil language eligibility examination is of 10th standard level.
(ii) Minimum 40% of total marks in part – A examination (minimum qualifying
marks) is eligible for the next level of evaluation of the main examination
answer sheet.
(iii)The procedure will be followed as mentioned in the G.O.(Ms.) No. 49,
Human Resources (M) Department, dated 23.05.2022 for exempting the
differently abled candidates from the Compulsory Tamil Language eligibility
test.

Part – B: Main Subject (Objective type)
(i) The Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Based Examination will consist of
a Single Paper of 3 Hours duration with 150 Multiple Choice
Questions (MCQs). Each objective type question carries one mark.

dated 25.02.2021.
