Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, an autonomous body under Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India invites applications for
appointment on regular basis to the following posts:
Detail About the Posts:
- Name of the post : Administrative Officer, One post (unreserved)
i) Pay scale and classification : Group ‘A’, L-11, Rs.67700-208700
ii) Age Limit : 50 years
iii) Educational and other qualification for direct recruitment: At least a Graduate with 10 years supervisory
experience in financial and administrative matters in a Govt. office or autonomous organization.
iv) Method of Recruitment: By deputation, failing which by direct recruitment.
Desirable : Preference will be given to the candidates holding postgraduate or higher degree in Social Science
such as political science, International Relations especially those with published works in national/international
journals on Gandhian Studies/philosophy and related areas. - Name of the post : Librarian, One post (unreserved)
i) Pay scale and classification : Group C, L-6, Rs.35400-112400
ii) Age Limit : 45 years
iii) Educational and other qualifications for direct recruitment: i) Post Graduate or equivalent, ii) Degree in
Library Sciences from a recognized university/institution, iii) Five years’ experience of working in libraries of
Central Government/autonomous bodies/recognized institutions of repute.
iv) Method of Recruitment: Direct recruitment including short term contact, failing which by deputation. The
appointment in either case will be for a term of three years extendable at the discretion of Appointing Authority.
(Probation: One year) - Name of the post : Guide, Two posts (One reserved for SC and one for OBC)
i) Pay scale and classification : Group C, L-4, Rs.25500-81100)
ii) Age Limit : 25 years
iii) Educational and other qualifications for direct recruitment: i) Degree in Arts preferably with Indian History as
one of the subjects, ii) Intimate knowledge of Gandhian Philosophy, iii) At least two years’ experience of working
in a field organization/museum/art gallery.
Note: Candidates who do not possess the practical experience prescribed under (iii) above but otherwise found
suitable, will be placed in the Level 2 Rs.19900-63200 till completion of probation.
Desirable: Knowledge of English, Hindi and one foreign language as German/French/Spanish/Korean - Name of the post : Driver, Two posts (One unreserved and One for OBC)
i) Pay scale and classification : Group C, L-2, Rs.19900-63200
ii) Age Limit : 25 years
iii) Educational and other qualifications of direct recruitment: i) Should have passed eight standards. ii) Permanent
license of motor driving. iii) Three years’ experience in driving and ability to carry out minor repairs.
iv) Method of Recruitment: Direct recruitment. – Group ‘D’ employees of the Samiti with requisite qualifications
may also be considered along with other candidates. (Probation: one year) - Name of the post : Safai Sevak, Three (One unreserved, one SC & One OBC)

ii) Age Limit : 25 years
iii) Educational and other qualifications for direct recruitment: i) Should have passed eight standards. ii)
Experience of having worked as Skilled Carpenter.
iv) Method of Recruitment: Direct recruitment (Probation: One Year) - Name of the post : Security Guard, one post (unreserved)
i) Pay scale and classification : Group C, L-1, Rs.18000-56900
ii) Age Limit : 28 years
iii) Educational and other qualifications of direct recruitment: Eight Standard
iv). Method of Recruitment: Direct recruitment. (Probation: one year)
Selection Procedure
Administrative Officer: Persons those who are shortlisted will be required to appear before the Selection Committee. On
the recommendation of the Selection Committee the competent authority will make the appointment.
For posts (2) to (7) : No interview will be held for these posts. A written Test, if required will be conducted for Group B &
C. A detail of syllabus and exam pattern will be posted on the website in due course of time. All the shortlisted candidates
will be required to appear before the Selection Committee for general assessment.
- Eligible candidates may apply online only as per the valid format of the application on the website. Applications
received through any other mode (offline mode/resume) shall be summarily rejected. - Age limit of candidates shall be determined as on the last date of submission of online application form.
- Candidates currently employed in government/semi-government organizations/autonomous bodies shall submit
through proper channel otherwise applications will not be considered. - The eligible candidates who are required to appear for an interview/Written Test before the Selection Board will
not paid any TA/DA. - Minimum requirements of qualifications and/or experience may be relaxed in respect of exceptionally
outstanding candidates. The Samiti reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of positions, to fill up or
not to fill up any or all the posts or to shortlist and select the candidates in any suitable position depending upon
the qualification and experience required for the said post. - No candidates shall bring influence or pressure regarding his/her candidature or selection. Canvassing in any form
will lead to disqualification. - Fee of submission of applications forms for General category is Rs.500, Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy
Layer is Rs.300 and SC/ST is Rs.100. Fee will be paid at the time of submit application online mode only. No offline
fees are accepted. - All incomplete applications and the fee un-paid applications shall be summarily rejected.
- Online application & application fee payment link will open till 11:00 pm on 20.01.2024.
- Relaxation in age will be allowed for internal staff working in GSDS.
